We are thrilled to announce that the Spring Bling Alpaca Show 2010 will feature a Fleece Show and a Handcrafter's Spin -Off competition.

Fleece Show Judge Wade Gease, AOBA Certified Judge, Two Rivers, WI will judge the Huacaya and Suri fleece. We expect to be a Level I fleece show.

Spin-Off Judge Billie Bookamer of Meadville, PA will spin your treasured fiber into a lovely sample of yarn from your favorite alpaca! Get your entries ready today: Spin-off entry deadline is November 15, 2009. Enter online now at www.springblingshow.com

Alpacas are making history with our 3rd Annual Alpaca Level IV Halter & Level II Fleece Show. Due to Easter we will be moving to the 2nd weekend in April of 2010. Mark your calendars.
This is a truly unique venture for the whole family. You’ve simply never had the opportunity to attend a true Alpaca event in Minnesota of this nature and now you can. Their big beautiful eyes, phenomenal colors and gentle disposition will grab your attention. They are wonderful in presence with one of the most luxurious fibers of many colors, known to man. The splendor of Alpacas has won many hearts of all ages. The humming sounds will have you grinning from ear to ear. Vendors at the Expo are not the norm! We were able to design a different and unusual array of shopping. This is a must see!

WARNING: Alpaca can cause uncontrollable smiles, warm fuzzy feeling and may be addictive!

Besides lunch and libations I will give those interested tips on shearing and Patty will be sharing insights on sorting and grading fiber. We will start days around 9AM and go to around 5PM. You can come and go as you please - but please stay as long as you can to enjoy food, friends and fleeces.

Please let us know if and when you plan to attend so I can prepare the libations and we can order lunch.

Neonatal Clinic and Wet Lab for Alpacas and Llamas

The morning lectures will cover female reproduction and breeding,pregnancy detection and ultrasound,herd health and management to keep her pregnant,birthing situation-both normal and problematic,and cria care.

The afternoon lab will be hands-on delivery with realistic birthing dummies and deceased crias. This part of the seminar will help you recognize dystocias,as well as,other problematic births. You will know how to deal with all types of emergencies. It is very informative and lots of fun. Course book will be provided to take home.

$250 for initial registration,$225 for each additional farm registrant. Registration is made when payment is received in full. Should you need to cancel, clinic fee of 100% refunded until 2/1/10. 50% refunded until 3/1/10. 25% refunded until 4/1/10.

Learn first hand about the wonderful world of raising alpacas for fun and profit from two of the first alpaca ranches in the state. This clinic is designed to benefit the newly interested or novice alpaca breeder. During the clinic you will tour two private alpaca farms representing nearly 120 alpacas. Get advice and have questions answered by an AOBA Certified Alpaca Judge and the successful owners and breeders of these two farms. Experience first hand what it is like to interact with these gentle and captivating animals. You will learn about basic alpaca health, feed, handling, tax advantages, farm set ups, husbandry and why their fiber is so special! You'll get a crash course on fiber characteristics and conformational aspects of the alpaca.

Meal and handouts are included. Car pooling is available for transportation between farms. Space is limited and can only be offered on a first come basis.
